It is a new and wonderful school year!  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Kimberly Coulter.  I have taught children in many different settings over many years.  I am very delighted to be working with the children in grades kindergarten through third grade at Bristol Elementary School, as an Intervention Specialist.

I have two degrees, both in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I love working with children!  I am very excited to be teaching.  I hope that if you are a parent or grandparent, you will feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I will be working with children to help in the key subjects of Reading, Math, and Writing.  You can help your child by encouraging them to read every night for at least 20 min. or more.  The student needs to pick a book that they are interested in and that is not at their frustration level.  If your child has trouble reading 4 or 5 words on a single page of the book, set it aside and pick a book that is at a comfortable reading level.  I also encourage you to read to your child and partner read books.  Remember, multiple readings of the same story will help your child increase fluency and vocabulary.

You may also want to play games that will help your student learn math facts and spelling words.  I hope you will visit some of the interesting links that I have suggested.  There is wonderful material on the internet, but remember your student will need supervision to visit appropriate sites.
